New features with AN-2015-08-18: This is the first localization step for the schily source consolidation. Many programs now (hopefully) call gettext() for all strings that need localization. - The next step will include dgettext() calls for the libraries and the missing programs - The following step will include the extracted strings - The last step will include German translations and install support for the resulting binary message object files. ----------> Please test and report compilation problems! <--------- ***** NOTE: As mentioned since 2004, frontends to the tools should ***** ***** call all programs in the "C" locale ***** ***** by e.g. calling: LC_ALL=C cdrecord .... ***** ***** unless these frontends support localized strings ***** ***** used by the cdrtools with NLS support. ***** *** WARNING *** *** Need new smake *** *** Due to the fact that schily-tools 2014-04-03 introduced to use new macro *** expansions and a related bug fix in smake, you need a new smake *** to compile this source. To ensure this, call: cd ./psmake ./MAKE-all cd .. psmake/smake psmake/smake install WARNING: the new version of the isoinfo program makes use of the *at() series of functions that have been introduced by Sun in August 2001 and added to POSIX.1-2008. For older platforms, libschily now includes emulations for these functions but these emulations have not yet been tested thoroughly. Please report problems! The new smake version mentioned above is smake-1.2.4 - Schily.Copyright updated - include/schily/mconfig.h: fixed a typo - include/schily/resource.h: added comment to the struct rusage members that are unsopported on Solaris. - include/schily/dbgmalloc.h: Added a workaround for source files that first #include and thus have no viable BOOL defintion while is included. This now permits to compile the whole libschily with smake COPTX=-DDBG_MALLOC LDOPTX=-ldbgmalloc in order to debug malloc()/free() calls. - bsh and libdbgmalloc: changed a casting from (int) to (UIntptr_t) to avoid a GCC warning. Thanks to Jan Engelhardt for reporting. - libfind: added a workaround for a Linux/gcc bug that causes a variable that has been initialized to NULL to have a value != NULL in doexec() when calling free(aav) even though that variable was never assined a value != NULL before. This prevents a core dump with libfind when calling: find /usr/include -type f -exec grep 123abc {} \; - Bourne Shell: the built in timing now supports more fields from getrusage() than just the times. The resource usage metering is not yet correct for the "find" builtin in case it is called with -exec, as it only meters SELF values for builtin commands for now but find consumes a mix of SELF and CHILDREN resources. - Bourne Shell: the TIMEFORMAT= variable is now supported and allows four different time printing flavors and up to 6 digits in the second fraction. - Bourne Shell: Added $(LIB_ACL_TEST) to the linker libraries in Makfile. This is needed on Linux when ACL support was installed. Thanks to Jan Engelhardt for reporting. - Bourne Shell: hashcmd.c added a comment about the origins of the #-Commands and a list of previously supported commands. - Bourne Shell: Fixed a bug in environment handling that was introduced with adding vfork() support. The bug caused "export" to work correrctly only when the variable was exported after a change and before calling a fork/exec command. - Bourne Shell: new version date - The following builtins (that are available in bsh) are still missing in the Bourne Shell: err echo with output going to stderr glob echo with '\0' instead of ' ' between args env a builtin version of /usr/bin/env The following bsh intrinsics are still missing in the Bourne Shell: - the restricted bsh has restriction features that are missing in the Bourne shell. and probably more features not yet identified to be bsh unique.
